SON (_weeping_). And we have lost our donkey in the bargain!

STRAW (_throwing down wood_). Think you'll need more wood for the dinner,
Sausage?
[_Sausage does not answer. She gets into the pot to flavor the
vegetables._]
COAL (_whispers to Straw_). Sausage is quite put out.
